Born in the cool, mineral rich veins of Russia, this transparent 1.77 carat pear shape green emerald carries a clear story from earth to artisan, and from artisan to you. It measures 9.74 by 6.99 by 5.26 mm, and is fashioned in a mixed brilliant cut that bridges the best of faceting traditions to deliver both depth of color and lively light return. Clarity is graded very slightly included at eye level, color intensity is light, polish is excellent, and enhancement is standard, all details documented and respected by The Natural Emerald Company. Our cutters selected this crystal for its unusual transparency among Russian emeralds, then shaped and polished the pear outline to accentuate the gem contours and internal reflections. The mixed brilliant cut was chosen deliberately to convert the stone natural brightness into scintillation, to open up its mint to seafoam green personality, and to preserve its internal character while emphasizing a wearable brilliance that sings in everyday light.
When you hold this gem up to light you notice a different kind of shine from what is often expected from emeralds, a bright, mirror like flash across its facets combined with a soft, inner glow created by its light color intensity and very slight inclusions. Compared to step cut emeralds this stone returns noticeably more sparkle, because the mixed brilliant pavilion refracts light into lively facets rather than broad planes, and excellent polish enhances every facet edge. In comparison with other green gems in its category, such as tsavorite and demantoid garnet which can display stronger fire and higher dispersion, this Russian emerald offers a more refined, luminous depth rather than outright fire, a gentler radiance that reads as sophisticated and versatile. Against Colombian and Zambian emeralds this piece presents a fresher, lighter green with a clarity advantage that permits greater internal reflection, making it ideal for a pendant or a halo setting where movement and light interaction are prioritized. At The Natural Emerald Company we regard this 1.77 carat pear shape emerald as a rare conversational gem, one that combines a clear origin story, thoughtful cutting, and pleasing optical performance into a jewel ready to be set and worn with confidence.
