From the heart of Zambia to the warmth of 18K yellow gold, this pendant tells a clear story of earth and hands, time and care. Deep under ancient rock, pockets of beryl grew slowly over millennia, and from one of those pockets emerged a transparent pear shape emerald weighing 1.42 carats, measuring 10.21 by 6.79 by 3.87 mm, cut in a mixed brilliant style to reveal intense color saturation and an excellent polish. Our gem graders noted a clarity of slightly included when evaluated at eye level, a characteristic that affirms the stone as a natural treasure and gives it depth and character. At The Natural Emerald Company we celebrate that origin, respecting both the geological history and the people whose expertise locates and liberates these rare crystals.
The transformation from rough emerald to wearable art is where the craft becomes visible. Every curve of the mixed brilliant cut was considered as our master setters designed a secure bezel that cradles the pear silhouette, following its facets so the light breathes from within. The pendant is entirely set in 18K yellow gold, each surface hand finished to a warm mirror that complements the green of the emerald. Above the center stone, three delicate round white diamonds were selected for their matching fire, weighing approximately 0.02 carats in total, with clarity graded Very Slightly Included in VS1 and VS2, and a color grade of F. Each diamond was placed with magnified precision, the tiny seats milled and inspected, the stones seated and checked for symmetry, ensuring that they play a supporting role without competing with the central emerald. The result is a composition where metal and stone meet with exact harmony, every junction polished and every edge smoothed for comfort and longevity.
Wearing this pendant is a continuation of its story, a connection to Zambian earth, to the hands that shaped the gem, and to the atelier that finished it with patience and expertise. It is offered by The Natural Emerald Company as a piece that balances provenance, gem quality, and meticulous setting, designed to be passed on and admired. For those who wish to learn more about the origin or the hand finishing process, our team is available to share the details of sourcing, grading, and care guidance, ensuring the pendant remains as vibrant as the moment it was first revealed from the mine.
