As a member of The Natural Emerald Company team I love to tell the story behind each stone, and this matched pair of Zambian emeralds begins deep within ancient riverbeds where tectonic patience coaxed chromium and beryllium into breathtaking green, nurtured over millennia before skilled hands brought them to light. Mined in Zambia, these round shape green emeralds weigh 8.57 carats and 7.47 carats respectively, and measure 12.93 by 12.76 by 7.86 mm and 12.81 by 12.66 by 7.39 mm, their cabochon cut chosen to celebrate the internal glow rather than faceted sparkle. At the moment of discovery the rough was sorted for color and clarity, then entrusted to lapidaries who honed each dome to an excellent polish, preserving a clarity grade of very slightly included as evaluated at eye level, and enhancing the depth of tone with standard, recognized treatment that stabilizes and enriches without altering origin or natural character. The intense color intensity of these stones is the heart of their appeal, a saturated green that reads true in daylight and lamplight, a color that speaks of Zambian soils and the geological alchemy that forms emeralds.
From my first handling of these cabs to the moment they were set on our display at The Natural Emerald Company, the journey was both technical and reverent, each pass of the wheel realigning form and light. The cabochon profile creates a luminous dome that seems to hold and return light, making these pieces ideal for matched earrings, a bold cocktail ring, or a bespoke pendant that honors symmetry and presence. Because cabochons emphasize color and internal character, the very slightly included clarity is an asset, a fingerprint of natural formation that certifies authenticity and story. We present these emeralds with provenance from Zambia, documentation of standard enhancement, and our commitment to responsible sourcing and artisanal craftsmanship. If you wish to feel their weight and warmth in person, or to discuss custom mounting options that will best showcase the intense green and perfect polish, I am here to guide you through design choices, care recommendations, and the certification details that make these emeralds a lasting connection to the earth and a treasured addition to any collection.
