Product description

One beautiful transparent 1.92 carat emerald, presented in a classic emerald cut, measures 8.04 by 6.69 by 5.06 millimeters, offering well considered proportions for a step cut of this scale. The emerald cut emphasizes broad parallel facets rather than triangular pavilion facets, creating a hall of mirrors effect and linear flashes instead of scintillation. The crown and pavilion planes have been executed with precise facet junctions and crisp facet edges, and the cutting displays meticulous symmetry that preserves the stone face up color and maximizes even light return. Clarity is evaluated as slightly included at eye level, which in practical terms means there are natural internal features that are visible to a trained observer under standard viewing distances, but these inclusions do not compromise the overall transparency or the integrity of the stone. Color intensity is light green, with a clean hue that reads fresh and lively against both white and warm backgrounds. The finish is excellent polish, with smooth facet surfaces that permit high surface reflection and controlled light transmission. Enhancement status is none, the stone is natural and untreated, and origin is Russia, a provenance that is sought after for well formed crystal growth and appealing crystalline color distribution. The Natural Emerald Company presents this stone as an example of precise lapidary technique applied to an untreated Russian emerald.

Under direct natural daylight, especially northern or overcast daylight that is rich in blue wavelengths, the emerald will display its pure green hue most evenly, the large table and step facets allowing the eye to read a clean field of color with broad flashes of light along the long axis. In strong direct sunlight the stone produces pronounced linear flashes along the facet planes, and the contrast between bright facet highlights and the green body color creates the classic step cut appeal, with mirror like reflections that travel across the table as the gem is turned. Under warm incandescent illumination the light will emphasize the warmer tones of the green and slightly soften the perceived saturation, making the gem read as more velvety and intimate, ideal for evening wear. Under modern cool white LED lighting the green will remain crisp and the excellent polish will enhance face up brilliance, while the step facets will present a sequence of bright and dark bands that shift with orientation, allowing the viewer to appreciate the faceting geometry. Fluorescent lighting will yield a slightly different balance, often making the stone appear a touch paler due to the spectral balance of the light, however the hall of mirrors effect and the step facet architecture will continue to provide attractive directional flashes. Because the stone is untreated, its face up color and pleochroic tendencies are wholly natural, and when rotated the observer may notice subtle shifts between slightly bluish green and pure green, a result of internal crystal orientation and facet alignment.

From a craftsmanship and setting perspective the emerald cut geometry and the dimensions of 8.04 by 6.69 by 5.06 millimeters create a versatile platform for fine jewelry, particularly for settings that expose the pavilion to light such as open gallery prongs or bezel settings with open back designs. The depth indicates a well balanced pavilion that supports strong contrast and maintains the apparent size table face up, the cut preserving both color and light return. Slightly included clarity at eye level is typical for natural emeralds and in many design contexts those internal features add character and a fingerprint of natural origin, while the untreated status enhances intrinsic value for collectors and connoisseurs. For routine care warm water and mild soap with a soft brush is recommended, avoid harsh chemicals and extreme thermal shock, and if professional cleaning is desired consult a lapidary or jeweler experienced with natural emeralds. The Natural Emerald Company stands behind the grading and origin declaration, and we can provide detailed imaging and viewing recommendations to help you choose the optimal setting that will showcase the linear brilliance, the light green tone, and the superior polish of this untreated Russian emerald.
